Seen On College Street

Thank you, Scott and Jennifer. We love you guys.

Well, invisible readers, we're busy working on Jane's memorial service. We have most of it settled, I just need to finish writing out what I want to say. That's right, I'm planning on SPEAKING. Gah.

Mental note: bring a box of tissues for the podium.

There's almost too much to say, you know?

Anyway, for those who haven't found out elsewhere, the service is this Saturday at 2 pm, in the Chapel at the Vermont College of Fine Arts in Montpelier.

And if you're moved to do so, instead of sending flowers, please consider making a gift to the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD). You can get more information on making a gift here. Please remember to include "In Memory of Jane Greene" with your donation. They do incredibly good work there, and I'd love to think Jane can make a difference for the hopes of families like ours. Thanks, everyone.

I happened upon your blog, not by mistake I'm sure, and I am touched. We lost our baby girl when she was four months old and it just pains me to see other families go through the same thing we had to endure. I admire your strength and courage to blog about your Jane. I hope you keep writing about life, your oldest daughter, your family and of course Jane. I will be praying for everyone this Saturday. May God be with you and help you through such a tough time.

Jane Was Here...in Kentucky!

Tia - thank you for giving me some concrete things to do. I'm awed by your amazing depth of spirit and grace. No wonder windows, doors and blogs across the world reflect back to you that Jane Was Here.

My thoughts will be with all of you tomorrow at 2:00 ... and beyond.

Much love,

Cindy

Jane was here in Indiana too... We have been praying for you all and thinking of you often, especially today. What a lucky girl Jane was to have you as parents and to now have such a wonderful, much-needed rest from this world. You have inspired me to create a blog and enjoy every moment like you all did with Jane.
Peace & joy to you all...

I have been deeply blessed by reading your blog. Jane was here in Wichita Falls, Texas. My daughter died 13 years ago at 7 months old. Reading about Jane ... hmm, it opened a small window for me again. A blessing.

I will be thinking of you all and praying for you, especially in the coming days and weeks and months. I remember that, after our memorial service, it was difficult: there was nothing left to plan or do. So I know your sweet neighbors, friends and family will not let up, that they will continue to surround you -- and to remember.

We can never know the ways our children bless others, but I do know that their seemingly short lives leave huge and lasting marks in the lives of others -- often changing the way people act and the decisions they make, for the better. So as those ripples (and waves!) go out from Jane's life, here's some love from Texas to you all.
