A Cure For The Post-Season Blues

Poor Tom.  Today had such potential for him.  Patriots football!  Game 3 of the Red Sox-Angels series!  Fail, and jaw-dropping, heartbreaking FAIL.

Thank goodness for Jane.  Our girl started the day at 40% oxygen (yes!), freaked out Awesome Nurse Deb by climbing to 60% and being super-fidgety in the late morning (yikes!) but then having another epic two-nurse poop (hee!) and immediately dropping back down to 50%.  Silly baby.  Awesome Nurse Angela reported in at 8 to say Jane was already down to 45%.  I bet she gets her into the 30s tonight.  I'll let you know.

9 pm UPDATE: Tom checked in, and turns out Angela got Jane down to 39% for a bit last night (woot!). She's holding tight at 45% for now, but Angela said she's laying down some sweet beats for her. Jane's a fan of the ICN lullabies now, but Angela and Tom think she's going to have PTSD flashbacks when she's an adult trying to ride in elevators.

That is AWESOME - down into the 30's tonight and we're not talking about outside temperatures are we? Yahoo!

Dude, if we could get her down to tonight's low I would be PSYCHED. It's supposed to plummet to 27 F -- the first hard freeze of the season. And there's a chance of snow tomorrow night.

I'd love it if Jane could keep her Os below the outdoor temps. We'll start with daytime -- Jane versus the Weather in a race to 21! Will Jane be free of supplemental oxygen before the ground freezes? Only time will tell...

For the first time in my life, I'm praying for an early freeze. We had snow yesterday morning here in Wisconsin and it's supposed to be 22° tonight. Come on Jane - beat the temp!

The race is on! She can do it!

My kids all went to sleep with tapes (you remember cassette tapes, right) playing of kids songs and lullabies by Raffi. He has a very soothing voice. Recently we were in some public place and "Baby Beluga" was playing somewhere and all three of them started doing some kind of baby dance thing ... and I could swear other 20 somethings in the Best Buy were doing the same thing!
